The Old School of Singing 5th edition Masterclass

More unforgettable memories have now been written at the Old School of Singing® Villa in Tuscany.

These images belong to the Fifth Edition Masterclass, April 2026, a truly international gathering of singers who travelled from New Zealand, Singapore, the United States, Germany, Spain, and other parts of the world to work, grow, and transform within these historic walls. This edition carried a very special energy. Day after day, the singers entered a deep process of technical rebuilding, artistic discovery, and personal courage. Voices were strengthened from their foundations, the registers began to open with greater freedom, and the sound gained new depth, brilliance, and authority. What moves me most is seeing how powerful transformation becomes when discipline, trust, and tradition meet. Each singer brought a different story, a different background, and a different dream, yet all were united by the same desire: to rediscover the voice through the principles of the Old School of Singing®.

The masterclass was crowned with a final concert at the historic Caffè Di Simo in Lucca, a beloved meeting place of Maestro Giacomo Puccini, Alfredo Catalani, Pietro Mascagni, and other great minds of that extraordinary artistic era.

After 40 years, Caffè Di Simo has reopened as a cultural and historic landmark, and our School was proud to inaugurate its new chapter with our final concert and diploma ceremony, marking the beginning of the celebrations for the 100 years of Puccini’s Turandot.

To hear these voices in such a meaningful place, connected to the legacy of Giacomo Puccini and the artistic soul of Lucca, was a moment of profound beauty and significance.

This Fifth Edition reminded us once again that the Old School is not a memory of the past. It is alive, it is breathing, and it continues to transform singers, step by step, voice by voice. With gratitude to every participant who travelled so far and gave their heart, their discipline, and their courage to this journey.
